Last week I ordered his wedding ring. We had decided on Tungsten so I visited a few jewelry stores to get an idea of what style, thickness, etc. I wanted to purchase. Tungsten is great because it doesn't scratch or change colors...ever! When I had decided on a style, I started looking around online to see if I could beat the jeweler's price. I found this one on Overstock.com which was the exact same ring I liked at the retail store but for a fraction of the cost! I did a little research before buying to ensure that it didn't have any other alloys mixed into the metal to affect the quality. I followed the advice that was given in the reviews and ordered a half size smaller than Dave actually wears and it fits perfectly and looks great!!
Also, I googled "coupon code for overstock.com" and got free shipping! If you have their iPhone app, be sure to keep a watch on the scratch off lotto coupon for other great coupons!

Decor, Decor, Decor....
This week's project was to get started on the decorations that will be at the wedding. I found this picture on The Knot and thought I'd modify it a little to fit my wedding theme.
I found these tablecloths online at for $3.79 each...cheaper than I could rent them.
I ordered 13 and a round one for my cake table for a grand total of about $60 with shipping. Luckily, I will be borrowing white table clothes from my church to go under the runners. I have buffet style seating.
For the ceremony, I found this picture (again on The Knot) and will be recreating them alongside the aisle.
I found the buckets at a local pottery store (Old Time Pottery) for $1.99 each, (I bought 8) and I bought ribbon at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 off! I will incorporate the ribbon other places also.
Also, I have fallen in love with custom aisle runners so I bought one at Hobby Lobby. They frequently put their entire bridal section 50% off (never buy anything full price at Hobby Lobby, wait a few weeks and it will surly go on sale). I want to make a stencil and paint it to look like this:
If you're not ambitious enough to paint your own, I found a site that has adorable custom runners...Click Here to see her site!
I'll be adding more decor post soon so check back!

Photo Printing
I finally received the CD with all the high res files of our engagement photos! Yay! They look great. Of course I wanted to print them out so I asked around about local places. Several people reccomended I print them at Wolf Camera, luckily they have an online uploading tool and one hour processing. Our prints turned out great! I googled "coupon code for ritzpix.com" (also Wolf Camera) and found a code for 20 free 4x6 prints. I had 44 so I only paid for about half of them. Then, I found a coupon code for 4 free 5x7 prints so I ordered these in a seperate transaction (you can only use one coupon code per transaction) and ordered 5 of these. This gave me a grand total of $6.77 for a copy of all our photos for an album, a 5x7 for my office, one for both of my parents and one for his, a 5x7 for him and a few extra 4x6 to frame. What a great deal! Additionally, I signed up for an account on snapfish.com and will receive 50 free prints that I will use when I go to print wedding photos or additional engagement prints. I love finding great deals!

Engagement Pictures
I've definitely been hooked on sites like Groupon and Living Social lately. You can really find some great deals. Last week, I stumbled on a Groupon for a photographer here in Huntsville. The package was $59 for the sitting fee and a CD of 30 edited pics with rights to print and distribute at will. What a great deal!! This was a $350 value so I immediately jumped on it. The pictures were from Caught You On Camera by Whitney Shepard. Here are a few of our favorites. Whitney was really great to work with, we had so much fun!

Project: Wedding
My fiancé and I are embarking on a eight-month whirlwind of an engagement leading up to our Aug 27 wedding.
The Vision: Country chic, Outdoor, Rustic
The Time: Evening, 6:30 pm ceremony
The Budget: None....not the good kind of none, none as in "nada"
We both work full time and are paying for our wedding ourselves with a little help here and there from family and close friend that are offering their "services". We will be doing a lot of the projects ourselves and will be looking for ways to cut costs any way we can. This blog will follow our cost cutting/ DIY money saving adventure that will end in what will be the best day of our lives.
